Business Area Develpoment and Regional Premises

The business area is centrally responsible for the properties sold and developed by Senate Properties. On 1 January 2008 the business area’s scope of responsibility was broadened, and now it also includes leasing business and customer contacts.

A specific task of the business area is to develop real estate assets no longer used by the state, so that they can be sold on the real estate market or alternatively leased as office premises. Buildings vacated from use include valuable buildings as well as ordinary properties (such as administrative offices, research centres and prison facilities). Business Area Development and Regional Properties also participates in the implementation of the state’s property strategy. The business area works in close co-operation with the other business areas as well as the regional organisation.

Nine property professionals work in the business area. Business Area Manager is Heikki Laitakari.
